Hello! My name is Gaizka Sendy Nathania. I am a member of the Bandar Lampung Wikimedia Community. This community provides me with opportunities to learn, collaborate, and contribute to the development of open knowledge across Wikimedia platforms.

I graduated with a degree in Fisheries and Marine Science, but I have long had a strong interest in languages and cultures, especially those from different parts of the world. My interest in foreign languages began when my father introduced me to English at an early age. In addition, my family background also shaped my curiosity about languages. My father is Javanese and my mother is Batak, and growing up in a family with different linguistic backgrounds encouraged me to understand both languages.

Since becoming a Wikimedian, my interest in language and culture has continued to grow. I have become increasingly interested in learning about regional languages and cultures in Indonesia, which are incredibly rich and diverse. This experience has broadened my perspective and helped me realize how important it is to document local knowledge so it can be preserved and shared more widely.

Although my journey in Wikimedia is still relatively new, it has already become an important part of my learning process. I have contributed by editing several articles on Wikipedia and adding vocabulary entries to Wiktionary, particularly words from the Lampung Api and Batak languages. For me, documenting regional languages is important because language is a key part of cultural identity that should be preserved and introduced to future generations.

I have also actively participated in community activities, such as WikiLatih, WikiTutur, Wikibuku, Wikiwisata, and WikiCommons, and have been involved in collaborative projects like WikiCitaRasa, WikiJejama, and WP25. Through these activities, I have learned more about how to contribute effectively to Wikimedia projects and how collaboration plays an essential role in building open and accessible knowledge for everyone.
